This jumble of trees, palmettos and vines at Riverbend Park in Jupiter, Florida became an almost abstract painting. I had to forget what I was painting and focus on the shapes and values. This piece was painted at the 2018 Lighthouse ArtCenter Plein Air Festival, and is featured in the September 2018 issue of Southwest Art magazine in a cover story about my journey as a plein air painter.
